New Logo
So I have a potential new logo for my dog stuff company (Celtic Hound www.celtichound.co.uk).

What do people think?

Anyone want to have a play and come up with something else?  The brief was:

I need a logo for a leather dog collar company that I am setting up called Celtic Hound. These are the kinds of things that we do (collars). I would need to be able take it into illustrator and create a vector image from it so it can be used on the web site, stationary and possibly even stamped into the collars.

It would be on the theme of a Celtic Hound, and our Celtic Hound is Tara and we call her that as she is half Irish Wolfhound and half Scottish Deer hound. She is the grey hairy one in the pictures here (dogs gallery) so if it could look a bit like her or a deerhound that would be great. We would need something that would work well as a logo so not too complicated in the detailing. Ideally it would also work small enough to be stamped into the tongue of a collar.

I think that's an excellent design, I'm suitably impressed.

One point to consider - not criticism as such, but worth bearing in mind: because the outline is furry, and therefore more figurative than the usual abstract celtic hound, the celtic knotwork inside - especially on a black background could be seen as slightly skeletal.

Other than that though, I really like it!

You say that like it's a bad thing ;)

I really like the design, skeletal cutaway look & all.

It's just a thing. Some will like that aspect of it, some won't; I was just pointing it out.

What I really do like, and I like it more the more I look at it, is the overall composition. The proportions of the limbs, the curve of the chest and belly, the attitude of the head, the angle of the paws, everything. Granted, if it was done in Illustrator, that does make it easier to make nice even curves, but it doesn't help you get the proportions just so; you need a very good eye for that.

I think that the girl who did it for me did it in pen on paper, the original is still to arrive in the post as it is coming from the states. I still need to turn it into a vector image for use but wanted to share it.

I think it looks great. Personally I rather like the slightly skeletal aspect of the celtic knotwork, I think that makes it more interesting and memorable than it might otherwise be, but ymmv.

I like it a lot. Very pretty.

Do agree slightly with the skeletal comment though, but that was only after I stared at it. At a first glance, totally conveys what you want it to.
